In 1967 I moved from smoggy Bradford in the north of England to this dazzling city on the sea - Brighton. Sadly, the council funding my art course decided to bring us all home by withdrawing financial support. I didn't go but I left art and eventually found my way into science with no regrets of any sort. How can there be, helping people with cognitive limitations to get the best out of their lives? Now, released back into the wild as it were, I'm picking up where I left off. It's a bumpy ride - literally sometimes, palette knives are a revelation! - but an incredibly satisfying one. This is my gallery, my progress report. Some of the pieces go back to 1960s school days - that blue face for instance, which pre-dates Avatar by at least 50 years - and some from Brighton College of Art. The rest make up my trail of re-discovery from cartoons through digital to real world paint on canvas. Nothing to threaten the innovators but who knows - there's a lot of living to do yet! Read Less
