Stephanie Mote was born in Kent, Ohio in 1989.  She is currently a full time student at Kent State University earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking, a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication Design, and a minor in Photo-Illustration.  Mote is the Assistant Curator at the Kent State University Museum and a Consultant at KSU's Student Multimedia Studio.  She has shown her work in a number of exhibitions including the GAR Foundation, ASM International, and at Zygote Press.  Her work has been published in the artist collective, Ghostbook, the charity artbook, COLORS Project, and the October 2009 edition of the e-zine, Earthmonster Illustrated.  One of her sculptures, Reticulate, resides in ASM International's permanent colelction.  Mote has also participated in Kent Blossom Art, a two-week intensive workshop, during the summers of 2012, 2013, and 2014.  In addition she traveled to Raahe, Finland to attend a printmaking workshop called Print the Midnight Sun.  This Fall she also will be taking part in the Mid-America Print Conference in Detroit and participating in the print exchange hosted there.  After her expected graduation in Spring 2015, Mote plans to attend graduate school and then pursue a career teaching printmaking and multimedia at the college level.
