I graduated from Knox College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sculpture. Although my focus in the studio was on material exploration in sculpture and furniture design, my portfolio includes ceramics, graphic design, photography, and works on paper as well. My 2010 exhibition, Object or Something Like It—a partnership with printmaker Kaylin Maanum—consisted of a collection of furniture constructed of found materials as well as Plexiglas, cardboard, cement, rubber, wood, and steel.

From 2010 to 2014 I was a designer at renowned Washington, DC architect and interior designer Ernesto M Santalla AIA LEED AP at Studio Santalla, Inc [now Ernesto Santalla, PLLC]. Studio Santalla offers services in architecture, interior design, and graphic design. In addition to both residential and commercial architecture and interiors, our diverse portfolio also includes branding, event design, user experience design, and furniture design. I was involved in every aspect of our projects, from site surveys and schematic design to construction management and staging for photography.

I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago under director Robert Somol. UIC’s program is heavily theoretical and speculatively driven, placing a large emphasis on the integration of theory and technology that pushes both in new directions. I am also currently employed as an architectural assistant at Norman Kelley, LLC, a Chicago and New York based firm headed by Thomas Kelley and Carrie Norman. My work for Norman Kelley has included both residential and retail projects. In addition, I had the opportunity to assist in the execution of the wall drawing, Alice’s Door, part of the exhibition Treatise: Why Write Alone? at Chicago’s Graham Foundation, coordinated by Jimenez Lai.
