Over the last twenty-six years, I've been a teacher. I've taught students from pre-k to high school level. I've also taught workshops to teachers over that same time span. I enjoy helping others and sharing techniques, processes, and knowledge with students.

I also enjoy art, specifically mixed media techniques. When I was in middle school and high school, I always had the desire to create. I wrote poetry, sketched, doodled, and occasionally played with paints. As I grew up, life became busy and I put everything creative on hold. In the last few years, I've felt that need to create again. I signed up for online classes and began living creatively once again. It was amazing. The creating part was amazing, but also the sharing of created art encouraged others and myself. (http://www.willowing.org/2013/12/20/life-book-love-stories-courtney-lemmons/)

Recently, with the encouragement of friends and family, I've turned some of my original pieces of art into cards. One day I'd love to create and share more art. I enjoy giving pieces of artwork away to friends and family, and hope to soon share some with the Hospice Care home where my father in law stayed for a time. There is no doubt in my mind that creating and sharing artwork heals in many ways.

In addition to teaching and creating art, I love to read, spend time in nature, and run (all distances!)
