Snøhetta is an international integrated architecture, landscape, interior, branding and design firm.

Since 1989, Snøhetta has established itself as a world famous practice of urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture and branding design. In the two studios, Oslo, Norway and New York, USA, the practice currently has 140 employed staff members from 27 different nations, split equally between male and female.

Although very international in its approach, there is a strong and common company culture firmly rooted within a Nordic Social Model which is based on equality, openness, generosity and environmental conditions.

Our attitude implies researching a wide variety of subjects within our architecture, both challenging and confirming the developments of our societies.

Snøhetta practices self-defined transdisciplinary processes where different professionals, from authors to visual artists, from philosophers to sociologists, take each other positions to explore differing perspectives without prejudice points of view.

Whatever size, each project is unique, and deserves a unique process. Opinions on history, culture, representation, climate, topography and landscapes, social environment, ethics and functions all represent layers of complexity to be embedded in a final result.

Currently, Snøhetta is undertaking more than 50 projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, the Americas and Canada. This widespread activity gives each professional valuable insight into differences and likenesses, allowing for continuously developing new knowledge, a precondition for intuition.

Our well-equipped workshop, including a large scale industrial robot, makes the 3 dimensional processes and prototyping a natural part of the design processes, and has proven extremely valuable, moving from digital to analogue to digital and back to analogue. Read Less
