West Jordan, UT, USA
I’m an experienced, fun, and entrepreneurial designer with over 15 years experience in the field of graphic design, and 4 years in UX design and development. I have extensive experience in the areas of user-centered design, UI/UX, brand identity, print design, packaging, illustration, animation, video/audio editing, web design & development, Wordpress, SEO/SEM/SMM, and e-learning. I know HTML, CSS, JavaScript, some PHP, MySQL, and I‘m familiar with most popular frameworks.

I have 2 years of agency experience and many established vendor relationships. I also freelance which gives me a unique perspective on the entire design process from conception to completion as well as a highly developed business acuity. I’ve performed work for many high-profile clients including Maverik, Extra Space Storage, Utah Higher Education, Lagoon, ACG Utah, and many others.

I‘ve obtained an Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Eagle Gate College, studied four years of design / illustration in the University of Utah Bachelor of Fine Arts Program, and recently received a Diploma of Web Development and User-Centered Design from the Art Institute. A total of 7 years of higher education.

In my last position held at Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority, I worked with a small but dedicated group of marketing creatives as the UX / Graphic Designer to design two new financial products, and I created complete brand identities for each resulting in over $5 million in loan volume within it‘s first year. I am responsible for the creative direction of many projects, concepting unique ideas, and presenting my ideas to stakeholders. I will put my creative and analytical thinking skills to work for you by using my great proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite as my brush, and using various media as my palette.

Marshall (Marty) Hamilton - Marketing Manager
"Shane has been a crucial member of my marketing team and has taken responsibility for the creative side of our products. He excels at helping non-designers understand what goes into good design. He also effortlessly grasps concepts in marketing campaigns and creates visuals that prompt thoughtful action and apply to the target market. His design work on our websites and printed collateral is second-to-none and has received praise from all levels of our organization. Shane is a consummate professional and has taught me how to interact with co-workers and how to grow personally and professionally. I would jump at the chance to hire Shane again or to work with him on future projects."

Tinu Silva MA, BA (Hons.) - Digital Content Strategist
"I've worked with Shane at UHEAA since 2014, and let me say it up front, the word 'creativity' looks unattainable next to his work. He is the definition of 'thinking out side the box'. He is an amazing strategic thinker, who goes above and beyond his limits to make things right. You can rely on his work; in a nut shell, he gets work done even if it's long past sunset. He is a very detail oriented person with a lot passion toward his field. Therefore, he takes pride in his quality work, which he has also been open to explaining his strategic process at any given time. Shane is not only a great employee, he is also a helpful, humble, and trust-worthy person. He puts a great amount of his free time for volunteer community causes. If I had three words to describe Severson, here's what I would say: Perfectionist, Kind, Reliable. I wish Shane all the best with his future career endeavors. Good Luck!"
