Support & Software Testing Apprentice | Industrial Placement

During this industrial placement, I was in charge of the following:

• created a number of email based workflows which radically improved the efficiency of creating and resolving cases and responding to the clients' requests within Microsoft Dynamics CRM
• created a number of reports using the Telerik Reporting module within Visual Studio
• installing and configuring software applications;
• monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
• talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
• troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving software faults;
• providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
• following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
• supporting the roll-out of new applications;
• setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
• responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
• working continuously on a task until completion;
• prioritising and managing many open cases at one time;
• rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers;
• testing and evaluating new technology;

Simultaneously, while working as a Support & Software Testing Apprentice, I have also branched out and worked within the Marketing department. During this period, I have achieved the following:

• Full redesign of the PSI2000 public website using Microsoft SharePoint
• Created branding material for a number of applications using Adobe Photoshop
• Created a number of animated videos that were used on the website and for marketing purposes using Powtoon
