Sarita was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she began drawing at an early age. Her career in illustration grew from her childhood interest in art and comic books. She continued her art education at San Jose State University’s School of Art and Design in California, where she graduated with a BFA in Animation and Illustration in 2007. She worked in Seattle, Washington for ArenaNet after graduating from university and gained valuble experience working on the game, Guild Wars 2 as an Environment Artist. She eventually moved back to Dubai and began working as a full-time concept artist and illustrator.

In 2010, Sarita began working for Dhruva Interactive, India’s oldest and most experienced games studio. Spooky Treats, one of the casual games she worked on with them, just released late last year. Sarita has also illustrated four children’s books which will be published in 2013. Last year, Sarita was granted an apprenticeship at Imaginism Studios in Toronto, Canada where she and three other artists worked together under Senior Concept Artists, Bobby Chiu and Theirry LaFontine.

Sarita’s hyper-fantasy artwork uses bright and multi-layered surfaces to create a visual depth that is both appealing to our sensibilities and intricate to the eye. Her artwork also often explores themes of fantasy within the context of personal narrative and storytelling and has been described as having a storybook quality with a “child-like” spirit to it. Her interests include video games, science fiction, fantasy and comic books. Read Less
