A first year course (core for the industrial major) introducing students to SolidWorks software, design thinking and transitioning between 2D and 3D and back.

A series of projects in this class also introduce students to the process of iterative design, creating 3D forms within a digital space, rendering, converting these 3D digital forms into 3D physical forms by translating the digital forms into 2D understanding as in intermediate step. This course also offers students an introduction into laser cutting, 3D printing and making files for their very first 3D prints.

Software introduced to students/tutored in this course include Solidworks, Pepakura and Adobe Illustrator.
