Sara Gundersen
Freelance Graphic Designer & Illustrator
Lynchburg, VA, USAI like to think that a good design is a clever design, since cleverness creates memorably simple designs that visually represent their definition. I use the little emotions that type, line, and color evoke to my advantage so my work retains purpose while keeping my mind to the marketing grindstone. My obsession is fueled from my eye for typography and photography, my involvement in community, and my love for art in all forms.

Graphic Design Internship & Short-term Graphic Designer
Since I had not done an internship in college, I thought this would be a good opportunity to continue to get experience while I waited for the economy to pick back up. I worked with an experienced and locally respected marketing team. I designed for print, advertising, promotional materials, and web. Here, I got to design for recognized brands like Subway, Pizza Hut, Liberty University, Domino's Pizza, and KFC. By the end my internship, I was offered a Graphic Design Position.

I got my start fresh out of college working exclusively in designing and overseeing any design work for print, identity, websites, and applications for Carbin Tech Inc. and all associated clients. I designed a lot of websites. It was great experience, but this small company ultimately became a victim to the economic fall.
