With over a decade of freelance work and more than 20 years of agency experience to call on, Sally Wagner provides art direction and design services to a broad range of clients. Assignments for agencies both large and small, as well as from advertisers directly, keep her busy on projects in both the print and broadcast arenas. Freelance clients have included the New York Philharmonic, the Guthrie Theater, Wells Fargo, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Medtronic, Highlights For Children and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Before launching her own business in 1997, Sally spent 17 years with Martin/Williams Advertising in Minneapolis. She began there as an art director in 1979, was promoted to Creative Supervisor in 1988 and named Vice President in 1989. Her account responsibilities there covered a wide cross-section of clients, including 3M Scotch Brand tapes, Target Stores, Kemps Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, First Bank System, the Minnesota Orchestra and the American Humane Association.
Her work has been recognized by every major creative competition, including the Communication Arts Advertising Annual, the New York Art Directors Club, The One Show, Print Magazine, The Clio Awards, and the Stephen E. Kelly Awards. Her work has also been featured in a number of advertising text books and publications. She has served on the juries of the Communication Arts Advertising Annual and The Clio Awards, as well as a number of regional advertising competitions across the United States.
Prior to joining Martin/Williams, Sally worked for Campbell-Mithun and Robert Meyer & Associates. Her experience includes work with such clients as Dole (fresh bananas and pineapple), Bumble Bee Tuna, Continental Airlines and SuperAmerica.
Sally lived and studied in Germany and France before graduating from Colorado College, magna cum laude, in 1971. She received her design training at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Read Less
