Tired of the SD-Irvine commute after two years, I was looking to work closer to home. Coincidentally Michael Mark had just opened a new shop in town and was looking for an ACD to help drive his creative department. Having a lifetime love-affair with the game of golf, the chance to help build the TaylorMade brand was compelling. Michael and his senior team were the deciding factor and won me over with their passion and smarts. Over a 4 year period I helped NYCA grow and produced an abundance of smart work for our clients business. Building a creative team that would be productive in our culture was an important part of my job. Fostering client relationships was a key responsibility given to me. I was also instrumental in the transition of the DZT (where i started my career) merger as a liaison between the new staff and the old.

I couldn't pass up the chance to work with the John Doyle when he took over as ECD at Y&R, Irvine. So I gave up my CD title to work at a global agency and learn from one of the best art directors in the business. Along the way I was fortunate to partner with some great writers and develop work for some great brands like Lincoln/Mercury, Sony. Jaguar, Mattel.

I learned so much in those two years with the opportunity to work with some talented directors and photographers along the way.

DZT gave me my first job in the business. I was with them for almost 10 years. Climbed from the bottom to the top in those years. Being a smaller agency, I was able to wear many hats in the creative department over that time. In the end i was able to revitalize the department with a talented new staff straight out of school. We created nationally recognized work together and i made some great friends for life. I still work with many of them today in some fashion.
