Chris Round is an ideas-based advertising creative who now mixes both advertising consulting work with photography. In advertising he has worked both as an art director and writer and later as a Creative Director.

He has always believed advertising should be more than one-way communication. Even in traditional media his ideas have understood the target audience and engaged them on a cultural level. But this belief became truly evident when, in 2002, he created the multi-channel 1900-9-JIMBEAM that set a new benchmark for integration in Australian advertising. The next year it won the coveted Grand Prix at Cannes in 2003, only the third in Australian history at the time. It has been said that the Jim Beam campaign's level of integration prompted the need for a new category - the Titanium and Integrated Lions. As well as Cannes his work has also been recognised at D&AD, The One Show, Clio, NY Festivals, and AWARD.

Chris's creative philosophy has followed him as a senior creative from Young & Rubicam Sydney, to M&C Saatchi and to Naked Communications where, as Head of Ideas, he played a major role in them winning AdNews Agency of the Year for 2006. Chris has also worked as a creative group head at Leo Burnett, Sydney and as Associate Creative Director at Moon Communications.

Since November 2011 Chris has worked as a creative consultant to many major agencies in Sydney.

Chris is also an internationally recognised photographic artist and, when not consulting, pursues his interest in fine art photography. His work has been awarded across the globe, highlights include: Shortlisted World Photo Awards; HeadOn Landscape Prize - Finalist each year; Winner CLIP Regional Landscape Prize; 3rd place QCP ‘Space & Place’; Twice finalist and Honourable Mention Exposure NY; Winner Best Architectural Image, Kodak Salon Awards, selected Josephine Ulrick & Win Schubert Prize. He has also exhibited widely in groups shows and as a solo artist, with his critically acclaimed 2012 show ‘Evidence’, curated by Sandy Edwards, putting his work firmly on the map. Read Less
