I was brought up in a small town in the countryside of Sweden. Having studied electronics and robotics in high school I started working at a Volvo factory soon after graduating at age 18. After working for about a year and a half I started to grow tired of the monotonous factory work. Using the money I had saved, I decided on whim that I wanted to learn Japanese and went on an adventure to Japan that would change my life. Immediately after arriving in Tokyo I started falling in love with the culture and language. However, after about a year of living in Tokyo, an unfortunate event occurred and I was forced to return to Sweden. Trying to readjust to the small town life proved difficult, and so I returned to Japan once again, this time to Kyoto. Wanting to live and work in Japan I was in need of a new education. Thus, after a year of language studies in Kyoto I enrolled to a Interior coordinator course at Sozosha college of design in Osaka. There I learned the basic principles of design the first year and switched from interior to product design for the second and last year. Immediately after graduating I found employment at Space Magic Mon, a design studio in the heart of Kyoto. Read Less

Space magic mon is a small studio, but we provide a wide variety of work ranging from residential, graphic & traditional Japanese product design, to art direction for exhibits at events such as Maison & objet and design consulting for various companies in Kyoto. Since it is a very small studio (3 people me included) I dabble in every aspect of what we do, creating logos, business cards, posters, brochures, designing products, drafting plans for the exhibits, giving input on material choice and other aspects of the residential design, English and Japanese translation as well as all 3D modeling and rendering.
