Paul Threatt

Senior Designer & Front End Developer

Roswell, GA, USA
I'm an inventive thinker that's always making connections in my mind. Music, art, and science all blend together in creative ways. I love knowledge and have a deep curiosity that helps my career as I work to understand the details of my clients' market and target audience. I love using new technology to its fullest extent, but I haven't risked bricking my iPhone! My hobbies include designing and building high-quality items, witnessing advanced technology at work, and keeping up with science fiction. I love helping friends with special projects. Particularly when they feel overwhelmed by them. I've rekindled my love for the outdoors and try to go fishing or scuba diving whenever I can get the time.

Work Experience

Jackson Walker Design Group

Senior Designer & Front-End Developer

I am the Senior Web Designer and Front-end Developer for small business websites and electronic communications. Working directly with clients, I create digital assets and printed marketing materials. This includes HTML e-mail marketing and response tracking through leading service providers. When a larger site requires server-side features or advanced functionality, I outline the requirements and manage the developers. I work as a full-stack designer and developer, constructing most sites myself when the design phase is complete. I outline the technical requirements for every project and summarize expenses. My regular duties keep me proficient in Adobe’s print and web development applications, but I’m not beyond editing HTML in a simple text editor. I enjoy multitasking and stepping out of formal roles to contribute when the opportunity presents itself. I’m an original thinker and have contributed to marketing concepts and copyrighting from the beginning of my career.

ACS Creative

Senior Graphics & Web Designer

I served as the web designer, web developer, graphic designer, and client liaison. This flat company only hired talent that could serve as the client’s single point of contact. Direct connection to the creative talent minimized communication errors and improved project development time. Budget and time tracking at the project level was a regular part of my duties. I gained experience in the now distinct segments of modern web design: Information architecture, wireframing, experience design, and user interface design. Working with larger corporate clients provided experience with adhering to corporate branding guidelines.

Apple Inc.

I am proud to have been an employee at the world's very first Apple retail store when it first opened in 2001. While still working full-time as a designer, I learned of this opportunity to work for Apple and couldn't resist. Knowing how important each representative was during the inaugural event, I take pride in the fact that I was vetted and selected by Apple executives to represent the company when public scrutiny was certain. I feel this speaks highly of my interpersonal skills and ability to work with a large team and even larger goals. I take pride in having helped launch the mammoth retail operation that Apple runs today.

Gasque Marketing And Advertising

At this agency, I was able to work closely with the Creative Director and Copywriter to bring complete ideas to clients. This close collaboration gave me excellent exposure to the creative writing processes behind projects and the clients themselves. I wasn’t pigeon-holed, and ultimately discovered the joys of wearing many hats, as they say. I had the opportunity to take original photography, write, concept, and cut my teeth on website development. I also served an IT support role, going as far as designing and installing the office’s first ethernet network. As a designer fresh out of school, the range of experience gained at Gasque was invaluable.
