I like to swim.
I like the feeling when you immerse yourself in water and suddenly everything else just fades away, and you’re in a void with yourself. I like how all the movements you make feel surreal and how each one matters in your conversation with water.
Well it’s not only about staying in the water, it’s also a little bit about how you get from one point to another. How good swimmers look like gentle waves, ripples on water, trying to reach the far ends of wherever they are. Often, the easier it looks, the harder it actually is.
You can learn how to float all by yourself, but you’re stuck in one spot. You can make splashes and get around but it looks horrible. It’s best when done with elegance, when you follow the rules that govern this strange medium and for that, you need a helping hand. You need someone to teach you how to paddle, when to surface and help you in creating your style.
I wish to learn how to swim, from the people who make it look easy.
