BIO

~Born in China
~Only child in my family
~My 2 best friends are like my sisters, and live in London and Tokyo
~Mom and dad are my heroes and they taught me so much
~I enjoy cooking and love spicy food
~I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was little, and fashion gives me confidence
~Age 5: learned piano, 7: learned to dance, 9: learned to draw, 11:
learned Chinese traditional painting, 13: learned Western art
~Before I graduated from high school, I was in the top one percent
in a national figure sketch test for applying to the top art institute
~After graduating from high school, I was accepted to the top art
institute in China, with a major in stage design
~My dad came to United States and applied for family immigration
~Instead of going to art school, I went to study English in Beijing,
because it normally takes half a year to get a visa
~Ending up getting stuck in China for two years waiting for a visa
because of 9-11 and all the immigration offices closed in China
~In those two years, besides studying English I worked as a sales
woman to promote an English learning program for children
~With life going up and down, it was a challenge to balance myself,
having lost my past and being unable to move forward
~Eventually, in 2005 I came to the United States and was reunited
with my dad after 5 years of being separated
~While in school I interned at Nike, IDEO, and Adidas
~In 2009, I graduated from Cleveland Institute of Art with a BFA
focused in Industrial Design while exploring many other fine art skills.
~2010, I joined Uliko Studio to continue my design career while
learning new knowledge of trend/color casting, material design and development.
_2011, I worked as industrial design contractor at Lunar and now at Incase.
