Co-created a product that allows Americans to text their elected representatives. After launch, I established a non-profit organization around it and, with a small core team and dozens of volunteers, bootstrapped it to over 9.6 million users and 30 million letters from March 2017 to the present day; along with a proven increase in voter turnout over several elections.

As designer for the fundraising team I created a brand new series of apps for individual investors and syndicate leads so they could better understand their investments on AngelList. This was the first major redesign of AngelList UI since launch.

Was a UX design consultant for Bessemer funded startups. Assessed and triaged companies to see where help was needed and applied accordingly. From getting leadership to use the same messaging, to ensuring customer needs were being met with the product offering, to designing user flows and user interfaces.

Drove the design of the product and customer experience, both as an individual contributor and a manager. Recruited our first product designer in March 2014 and two more in January 2015 to help us ship our first beta products: Brigade for iOS, Android; and Brigade.com.

Joined Causes via acquisition of Votizen. Started as an individual contributor on a major redesign of Causes.com that began when I started, and launched in September. During my time there I was promoted to VP of Design and managed a team of seven, including designers, a copywriter, researchers, and marketers.

Sole UI and visual designer behind Votizen. Crafted the various web products we released for voters and political campaigns, including the open letter composer, voter turnout system, the Votizen Live! product to monitor voters' tweets during the Presidential debates, and the 2012 real-time election product. Designed all brand collateral and drove all of our marketing and earned media.

The first designer-in-residence for Bessemer and for any top-tier venture capital firm. Consulted for portfolio companies including LinkedIn, Cornerstone-on-Demand, Billshrink, Yodle, Wikia, Intacct, and Reputation.com.

Lead product and visual design for Mint.com, and the iOS app. Took interfaces from idea to sketch to high-fidelity design to code deliverables. Drove marketing design and brand direction, including voice and tone, the web site, blog, emails, and landing pages.

Started an agency that built web sites, marketing collateral, and e-commerce web software for clients. Grew the company to five full-time employees and won recognition as one of Pittsburgh's six hottest ad agencies in June of 2006 by competing for top accounts in the area.
