Propeller was founded in 1991. For over 22 years we have been providing exceptional services in warehousing, distribution, and assembly services.

Propeller, Inc. was founded in 1991 by Earl and Julie Christensen to distribute portable computer components.

Propeller’s team concept of bringing clients and suppliers together proved a winning combination. For example, one of Propeller’s clients, Oracle Corp., needed a portable computer with large memory. Working with Oracle, Toshiba, and a memory manufacturer named Apricorn, Propeller was able to provide a solution that gave Oracle sales and consulting people a huge jump on their competitors.

Since the beginning, Propeller’s roots have been in the computer hardware business. Propellers understanding of the computer hardware and software distribution chain has helped its clients take advantage of the market for over 22 years. Propeller has since grown to also become familiar with the consumer electronics, medical, toys, nutritional supplements and other distribution chains.

In 1997 Propeller, Inc. was awarded Utah’s Fastest Growing Company.
Propeller, Inc. is a full-service 3PL providing order processing, warehousing, shipping, kitting and assembly, packaging, invoicing (including EDI), returns management and materials procurement.

Propeller, Inc. Quality Assurance
At Propeller, Inc. quality assurance begins with the right people and the proper understanding of what quality means to the customer and where the product is used. We start with hiring quality individuals and putting them through a rigorous and extensive cross training program. We train all of our staff to believe that – “Our client’s customers are our customers” The question is always asked, “Is this order packaged and processed well enough to be used on a family member?”

Propeller’s Oracle ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system controls all order processing and inventory control. Propeller will inspect the shipment for order accuracy, product accuracy, lot tracking accuracy, and over all packaging.

Propeller Receiving – In order to verify all inbound shipments we work with our clients to create a custom receiving process for their business. For example, we might ask our clients to provide a sample file for all their inbound purchase orders. This file would include pertinent information, such as- retail artwork, quantity expected, revision numbers, etc. Once the shipment is received, the goods will go through the Propeller receiving inspection department before going into inventory. Propeller utilizes tried-and-true internal methods and integrates them with the metrics that our clients require, objectively measuring accuracy, performance and projecting future performance to reach the desired outcome– a white-glove experience for your customers, and the increased revenue that comes with those happier customers.

Propeller Kitting – At Propeller we take extra steps to insure every product is kitted according to our clients’ specifications. In addition to the checks performed in the receiving department we do checks when pulling each component. Also, each production build has it own unique build sheet. This is an exact replica of the BOM (Bill Of Materials) provided by the client. Once ready to assemble, we do a first article build and photograph or ship this sample to you for verification. This has also proven invaluable to the kitting staff, ensuring that everyone “on the line” understands how the product is to be completed. During the kitting process we also run the product through a scale and verify accuracy by weight. Propeller is your solution for accurate, cost-effective and on-time assembly.

How insurance is handled at Propeller
All of Propeller’s clients are responsible for insuring their own inventory while it is at Propeller just as they would if they owned their own warehouse. Each client is responsible for several reasons-

Each client’s inventory has a different value. (For example, the “toy” inventory is worth less than, say, the “medical products” inventory).
Each client may want a different type of coverage.
The client can rest assured that their inventory is insured if they are responsible for insuring it.
If you need help with insurance, Propeller can refer you to their insurance agent. This is a matter between the client and the insurance company. Propeller plays no role.

A rough guideline is $3.50 per thousand dollars of value insured per year. Read Less
