Piermarco Menini was born in Venice where he started the career of photographer in the 80s and worked on still life, art, architecture.
From 1987 to 1994 he has a substantial and intensive cooperation with the Guggenheim Museum of Venice for which he photographed artworks, still life, architecture and artistic events.
In the 1990 he documented with his photographs the realization of works by the american artist Jenny Holzer at the Venice Biennale.
In the 1992 he moved to Milan and began making portraits of famous people about cinema, culture and entertainment publishing them in important national and international magazines including "Ciak", "Amica", "Max", "Sette", "Il Venerdì", "Io Donna", "Glamour", "Anna", "Panorama", "Photo", "Studio", "Premiere", "Madame Figaro".
He's been working for 15 years with the film magazine "Ciak" for which he covers the most important film festivals, photographing international celebrities and coordinating work of his collaborator.
Since 2004 the lifestyle magazine "Dove" has assigned to him the realization of fashion, trend and design photo shoots.
Within discography, in the 90s, he documented a great story of musical experience of the venetian reggae band "Pitura Freska".
He exhibited in the section "La Fabbrica dell'Arte" at the 50th Venice Art Biennale; in other exhibition he presented his celebrity portraits (Milan, Savignano), the theme of the five senses (Verona) and the nude (Venice).
Between 2002 and 2008 he also was the photo editor for the Venice Film Festival official daily "Ciak in Mostra" and between 2006 and 2007 for the restyling of the periodic "Il Cittadino ".
He was Samsung testimonial in the road show "Urban Safari" presenting the mirrorless camera NX100.
He has been teaching photography for many years, in fact for 20 years he's a professor at the Italian Institute of Photography in Milan where he holds annual courses of portrait, studio and location lighting, digital photography and also periodically holds meetings professional training in other locations including the IED, Istituto Europeo di Design.
