Design Technologist

Building from the previous Interactive Developer position at Droga5, this role focuses on design through and through, at every stage of the project. Strong conceptual focus, with the technical ability to provide a product using whatever means.

Rapid prototyping through HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery as well as some PHP scripting and database integration. Occasional PhoneGap builds, UX flows and motion graphic proof of concepts are just a few of the tasks requested in this role.

Concept, design and development of MyOwnAlphabet.com, a supporting typographic gallery to AMPERGRAM. HTML, CSS, responsive front end development, including PHP scripting and MySQL database back end. Entire website generated on the fly through database content. Administrative front end created in order to add new content in seconds.

Concept, design and development of MyClevelandSkyline.com, a micro-site gallery showcasing over 300 photos of the Cleveland skyline along the Lake Erie shoreway. Database-driven to allow future user photo additions. HTML, CSS, and scalable to user’s screen size for best viewing. JavaScript animation and interface development, to allow for quick image playback.

Senior Multimedia Artist

Member of senior management team that led the transition of Adcom Communications unit into a fully functional motion graphics and live action studio. Responsible for all Flash development and most of the 3D modeling, animation, and advanced motion graphics. Manage the full project life cycle, from concept through design and development; deliver client proposals; create and maintain the company’s interactive map, an all-Flash, database-driven application used by all companies within The Adcom Group (Adcom Communications, Optiem, Uppercut, Landau PR).

Led video and set design / production for client’s launch at the New York Stock Exchange. Major efforts included:
– Creating a full suite of videos spanning 36 feet over multiple displays.
– Developing related print collateral materials and custom-themed PowerPoint presentations.
– Modeling (to scale) the floor plan and creating set design in Cinema 4D.
– Designing appropriate lighting and displays.
– Ensuring content’s seamless interaction with NYSE and its vendors.

Created an all-Flash website documenting an Uppercut-sponsored photography gallery exhibit with Facebook and Vimeo integration. The event, which attracted less than 200 participants, received 2,400 unique online visitors, 900 of them from Facebook.

Contributed to employee orientation efforts by developing a Flash website, driven through ColdFusion and MySQL, that highlights the company’s floor plan (three floors and 65,000 square feet) and all 120 employees, complete with name, e-mail address, phone extension,
position title, and individual photo/video. New hires can be added in about 30 seconds.

As a newly hired employee, assumed responsibility for all interactive work that had previously gone to Optiem. Directed banner ad campaigns, video productions involving motion graphics, and digital merchandising for KeyBank, a client who was responsible for 60% of Adcom’s time. Created and maintained Adcom’s Flash website; as Senior Interactive Designer, supervised two design employees.

Pitched a website rebranding concept that was selected as part of Adcom’s campaign to revamp its identity. Created a site that showcases company projects and includes a customizable portfolio.

Led the transition of KeyBank’s in-branch digital content to state-of-the-art, multi-display HD technology.

Interactive Designer

During a four-month internship, was fully accountable for contributing to projects; developed banner ads, e-cards, full Flash interactive applications, and kiosk interfaces. Worked directly with the Senior Interactive Designer and Creative Director, receiving full creative freedom during tenure.

Created multiple animations for Royal Caribbean kiosks, personally illustrating all concepts and developing timeline and interactive applications.

Built on the initial success mentioned above by developing engaging interfaces for kiosks located on the line’s cruise ships.

Enhanced Brady’s brand and public awareness by installing a kiosk in the building’s lobby to promote the firm and its capabilities.
