I have a BA in Interior and Textile Design from Novia University of Applied Sciences in Turku, Finland. I'm originally from the lovely town of Pori in Finland, but I'm currently living in New York City with my husband.

My work experience and background with graphic design could be considered as an unusual one, but maybe it's more interesting that way.
During my time at Novia, I studied textile, pattern & interior design. I took all the graphic design courses that were available for me. In the beginning we even had courses in fashion and furniture design.
Graphic design for me started as a hobby back when I was 10 years old, when my grandmother and grandfather decided to get a computer connected to the modem connected world wide web. Because I had graphic design as a hobby as a kid, I thought it could be something I could do when I'm older. When I had to decide where to go, I decided on going on a more crafty and artistic route with textile & pattern design.

After my graduation, I started my own company and moved to Dresden, Germany.

During our time in Dresden I worked as a graphic designer in a communication agency called Ikonum. My responsibilities as graphic designer included logo design, print design, illustration and web design. Working at Ikonum was, not to sound too much of a teenager, awesome. I came there with the knowledge I had from having graphic design as a hobby and everything I didn't know by then, they taught me. They trusted me a 100% with every assignment and they got me out of my comfort zone. Working at Ikonum was sort of an honor for me because I was recognized in something that I'd mostly learned by myself.

I would say that I'm a somewhat versatile graphic designer because of my education and work history. When I was working at Ikonum, my bosses complimented me on having a wide range when it came to different styles.

I might be a silly and fun person to hang around, but I always take my job seriously. I like learning new things and I think that I learn quite fast those new things. When I design, I do not like to leave things hanging. In the beginning of a project I like to quickly plan out a timeframe and figure out a quick moodboard for inspiration. When under pressure I make myself focus on the most important things in the task and of course double-check everything. Read Less
