My studio is in central Kentucky, halfway between Louisville and Lexington. I mainly shoot Outdoor and Nature Photography, but have lately felt the need to push beyond the traditional landscape. I started out as a theatrical scenic/lighting designer. I Studied scene design, watercolor rendering and lighting design. A studio art minor was a requisite for my design degree as an undergrad, so I took a photography elective. After twenty years I got more interested in the computers I was using than the work I was doing on them, and switched to outdoor advertising. discovered Photoshop and picked up a camera that had been sitting on the shelf for over thirty years. On a whim I sent one pic to a contest in a state magazine, and when I won third prize I was off and running. Read Less
I shoot Pentax, a K-3. I have a workshop near the house where I print on a Canon iPF6400 printer, and I build my own frames and assemble my own gallery wraps. I like the physical "hands on" aspects of the work as well as the creative end.
