Work Experience
Grapevine Craft Brewery
Director of Branding & Marketing
In 2012 I began work with Grapevine Craft Brewery on building their brand as a new start up. In 2014 I took over as Brand Director full time to focus more attention on the brand messaging by ensuring consistency in voice, design, and aesthetics. I wrote creative copy and designed consumer packaging, advertising, retail space décor, point-of-sale items, and sales materials.
Over the course of the year increased our product offering from 3 to 5 year round beers, several special release beers, and 2 seasonal beers, as well as, opened a new taproom open 7 days a week to the public.

Buzzbomb Creative
Owner/Creative Director/Designer/Bookkeeper/Beekeeper/Comic Relief/PR Guy/Sales Guy/VP of Sales/P of Sales/Photographer/Developer/Mentor/Mentee/Mentos Eater/TV Watcher/DJ/Receptionist
In 2010 I started Buzzbomb Creative as a side project and in 2012 took it full time. Buzzbomb is a brand development agency mostly working with startups and small businesses. (read: broke people). Seriously, though, it was a labor of love and I enjoyed helping small businesses start out of the gate and make their competition nervous with their awesome branding.
From 2012–2014 Buzzbomb tripled in size (from 1 to 3), but ultimately became 1 again as I took on the full time branding duties at Grapevine Craft Brewery.
From 2015 to the present, I have worked with a select group of clients in various capacities, both new brands and rebrands.
2016 is, well, only 20 days old as of this writing so we'll see.

Gateway Church
Senior Creative Director
I served on the creative team at Gateway Church and watched it grow like a zombie outbreak. When I began I believe there were maybe 30 people on staff and when I left well over 300. In that time I went from lowly workhorse designer to senior creative director overseeing the creative of brands, campaigns, events, etc that a creative staff of over 30 worked on.
I learned to how to decipher client desires and translate that into designer speak. I learned how to decipher my own designery thoughts so other designers could understand. I learned how to deal with conflicts between peers, clients, etc.
I also got to work on a lot of cool projects seen by 10s of 1000s of people. That work ultimately led to changing lives, for the better in most cases. I learned a lot and taught a lot. I call it a success.
