Owen Gildersleeve is an artist based in London, specialising in handcrafted illustration, set design and art direction

Owen's work often plays with light and shadow, combining hand-cut layers of paper with graphical forms and hand-rendered typography. His practice also often sees him collaborate with other creatives, including photographers, animators, stylists, and developers, to design dynamic installations and bring them into being.

Owen's playful handcrafted creations have won him numerous awards and have seen him produce illustrations for an array of international clients as well as exhibiting across the world, including New York, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo and Bangkok.

Published in 2014, Owen’s first book Paper Cut celebrates the skilled creative practice of 25 leading papercraft artists from around the world. In June 2017 Owen's second book My Amazing Body Machine was published by DK. For this Owen voyaged into the human body, creating fifty anatomically accurate paper cut illustrations in collaboration with celebrated scientist Robert Winston.
