FABRIZIA ZORZENON DESIGN

Born in Gorizia in 1982 and daughter of a stage designer, Fabrizia Zorzenon’s cultural education is due to a special combination of handed-down knowledge and personal experience. On the one hand, the incredible passion conveyed by the family for stage design, the theatre and the world of exhibition design and the ephemeral. On the other, a growing interest in structural architecture and the lessons of some of the great masters of the 1900s, including Eduardo Torroja and Jorg Schlaich. This latter interest was especially cultivated during her university years, first in Venice and later in Berlin, in which professor Enzo Siviero (IUAV) certainly played a key role. Under his guidance, in 2011 Fabrizia earned a PhD at the International University of Nova Gorica with an essay entitled “Footbridges as new urban spaces”. An education thus distinguished by a continuous vacillation between seemingly remote subjects and that are now resolved in a manner or designing and conceiving architecture as matter modelled according to the laws of nature and able, as such, to resonate in man, specifically capturing his emotional and experiential side. And in keeping to this vision, in 2010 Fabrizia founded Officina 1159, a creative design and temporary architecture laboratory that designs and creates exhibitions in which structures and emotions become one leading to the creation, in 2011, of the IMISS COLLECTION, a collection of recycled corrugated cardboard furniture and accessories whose design reveals the profound affinity with a journey rich in connections and contaminations. FABRIZIA ZORZENON DESIGN presents Imiss Collection, the new recycled corrugated cardboard furniture collection.

Made up of an elegant and stylish chair that gives its name to the entire collection, its Möhd table and Cleo bookshelf, Imiss Collection is a combination of forms and colours that reveals its essence and distinctive nature in recycled corrugated cardboard. Exploiting the high resistance of the latter and the incredible aesthetic properties it conceals within, Fabrizia Zorzenon presents an impressively original and new collection able to furnish any room or event or make it unique and creative to your guests and friends' eyes.

The Imiss chair is inspired by the design and modernist elements of the 20s, invoking the harmonious weave of lines in Mies' Barcelona chair.
On the other hand, the Möhd table stands out for its beauty and character, representing the reminiscence of desert sand that flows in the gentle corrugated cardboard lines with its forms and traits.
Lastly, Cleo is the expression of the cardboard’s dynamic and intrinsic force which is captured here as it forms through the shape that becomes the trace of the forces that generated it.
Thus ecologically sustainable furniture that finds its strength in the purity and tenacity of its forms and the means through which the poor cardboard material is enhanced. Read Less
