Nicole Gsell graduated Rhode Island School of Design, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Illustration and a Concentration in English in 2010. She also holds a Masters of Arts in Art Education (M.A.T), and a Teaching License for the state of Massachusetts.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Nicole moved to Boston, MA in the Fall of 2010 to pursue a career in publishing. She was the Creative Director for independent children’s book company Pinwheel Books, now located in Miami, Florida. Her love of working with children and motivating others to create art inspired her to pursue her graduate degree in Art Education. She now teaches elementary students art at the Henderson K-12 Inclusion School in Dorchester, MA.

Nicole has participated in several books published since graduating RISD, including "Sam and Ben", "The Tremendous Pagoda Tree", and her latest project with Charlesbridge Publishing "Spit and Sticks"
