Nelson Wei Tan received his MFA in Communication Design, BA in Media Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also received his Diploma in Interactive Media Design from Temasek Polytechnic School of Design, Singapore. Tan's art practice engage in political issues, such as media bias, free speech and censorship as a response for social change. His work revolves around cultural and social issues, especially concerning contemporary media and communication. Prior to teaching, he worked with various media production agencies producing television commercials and broadcast design projects.
