Artorial

Creative Director / Curator

Artorial was an arts agency that worked with brands and artists on arts based projects, produced art exhibitions and managed art sales. Representing a range of artists from New York to the Black Forest, Artorial acted on behalf of these artists to produce unique and engaging environments tailored to the work of the artist. Designing exhibitions and live events that combine and utilise location, lighting, set design and music to complement the artworks. Representing Futura2000, Stash, Stefan Strumbel, Yassine ‘YAZE’ Mekhnache and Reudiger Glatz.

Making art viewing both stimulating and informative was key as the creative director when producing shows and managing the Art Stars Project for Ralph Lauren. I set up Artorial initially to produce and curate the Oyssey Two show in Berlin with Futura2000:

Mad Krunk

Creative Director / Curator

Mad Krunk was set up as a result of and amid the street art boom of 2006 – 07. The 4 directors, including me, all held close links to the street art and contemporary art world. We set out to take art show promotion to new heights through our expertise in advertising and ‘hype’ marketing through social media and blog sites.

Our launch show Strategic Synchronicity by Futura2000 presented an entirely new collection of large scale paintings by the New York artist, repositioning him as a pioneer of the street art movement. The show featured a bespoke sound track produced by Damien Taylor (Bjork, The Prodigy, Stone Lions) that was designed to create a soundscape that acted as an extension of the artwork on display. We also invested considerable time into the catalogue which presented the history of the artist so visitors were able to see, hear and read about the creation of artworks.

Our follow up show in Dubai was a presentation of work by Futura2000, Stash and Phil Frost. After the success of the show in L.A we wanted to take our style of presentation to a contrasting audience and market.

Fine art print releases followed from Futura2000 under the KRUNK branding. We also invested in the production and creation of ‘Next stop destination’ (working title), a feature length documentary that tells the journey of Futura2000 from subway trains and Downtown New York to the successful brand and street art pioneer.
