Mostarda em Pó was formed in October 2012, by young students of Graphic Design School of Fumec University, Brazil. Fernando Vitral, Designer graduating and Olavo DE' Aguiar, postgraduate student of Creative Processes in Word and Image (PUC – MG, Brazil). Insatisfaction with the lack of creative freedom of current Design projects and looking for a properly space to develop their own projects, guys were motivated to opening a self company.

Inside projects, Mostarda em Pó values the manual work without clear distinction between art and graphics, delaying computerized methodologies just to finish the work. A clear example of this thought is a current partnership with Tipografia Matias, one of the last company of this type in Brazil. It's important to point that graphics software resources are not so essential, since instead this the composition and printing works are done manually.

The studio uses part of Manoel de Barros concepts, the poet, in order to understand and to generate a new proposed of Design creations. The same way of Barros’s interpretation guides the values of Mostarda em Pó, which largely are already very similar to postmodern precepts of Design. " As the poet says, we want to trans view the world . "

The idea that images are tired of being seen by reasonable people and they want to get out of its functions is a set point to start the creative process. This company believes that projects are destined to sensitivity purposes and not for the most pragmatic and primary function of reason.
