Born in New York City. Michael Yurgeles received a B.S. from the University of New Hampshire and an M.F.A. in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design. Michael serves on the faculties of the Northwestern Connecticut Community College and The Gunnery School.

Much of Michael's work is photo-based, and deals with cycles in nature and perceptions of time. He believes that as an artist, he should collect as many images as possible, much as an archaeologist collects objects, and then attempt to organize them in a way that reveal underlying purposes and patterns, and motivations.

Michael lives in Torrington, Connecticut with his wife Nancy, two dogs two cats, and an iguana named Richard Parker. Read Less
