With more than two decades of dedicated legal experience, Michele Morel serves as a judge for the 29th Judicial District of the State of Louisiana. In preparation for her career, she studied at Louisiana State University, where she served as treasurer of LSU’s chapter of Delta Zeta Sorority and a Bat Girl for the Tiger baseball team. After some time teaching French at the middle school and secondary school levels, she attended Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and earned a juris doctorate before beginning her legal career in Louisiana. An active participant in her field, Michele Morel maintains affiliations with a number of organizations and associations related to her profession including the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the National Association of Women Judges and the Animal Legal Defense Fund.

When not attending to her professional responsibilities, Michele Morel enjoys pursuing hobbies and interests such as artwork, trying new foods and spending time outdoors. Furthermore, she serves as vice-chair of the Animal Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association and volunteers her services with animal rescue. Read Less
