Creative Designer, Photographer

I've always been interested in creating and conceptualising all kinds of things ever since I was a kid, from making my own “paper craft board games” to designing interfaces or maps for fan videogames.

My first experience on Graphic Design and Photo-Editing started when I first used an earlier version of the Photoshop software in the aim of creating or modifying textures from videogame for modding. Practicing it over the times made me realise all the possibilities that could be used in other activities such as web design, artistic work, or animation to which I eventually found myself praticing over the years.

While doing a Technological Baccalaureat I've learned the basics of operating systems and development softwares, such as the use of the common shortcuts that are appliable in most programs. With theses shortcuts, I have enhanced my abilities in graphic design and was able to produce graphic work quicker.

Years later I eventually started to practice video and sound editing as I have been part of an amateur French voice acting group making parodies out of videogames and anime series. Through different tutorials I've learned about the different settings to put for each type of video at the start of an editing, image and colour correction, rush transitions and audio manipulation and correction. By doing it regurlaly I've developped a strong confidence in the making and was able to plan a video to be released once every week on the same day.

Meanwhile I was doing an Engligh Litterature and Civilisation course that helped practicing my English further and allowed me

Through the HND Interactive Design course I've been introduced to the basics of various concept development regarding design and digital technologies. This course included many of the activities I've already experienced and new ones to which I've developed a strong and growing interest, such as Interface Design, Visual Effects and Compuer Animation.
Our first year's graded unit asked students to develop a rebranding campain for one of Edinburgh's most well-known music venues, the Voodoo Rooms. This project has been the occasion for me to suggest a wide range of interactive and creative solutions to the campaign, such as updated design solutions for their own brand (a new logo, website, posters, flyers and menu covers) or interaction ones (use of QR Codes that would redirect the consumers to the brand's dedicated phone application to get access to an offer or anotehr feature).
Successful projects that I've done through the course proved I am capable of planing out research, critical analisis of current design and functional features, elaboration and selection of ideas, development and presentation of my final works on time to the client.

Photography had also been an important part of my course as a learner designer. While practicing it as a hobby I've experienced a wide range of photography fields and learned how to ajust the picture settings such as the colours or the exposure to produce great professional looking pictures or artistic ones. Moreover my HND course in Interactive Design helped me to develop my skills further and gave me more confidence that eventually led me to get a job as a Nightclub Photographer and Keyring seller in various clubs in Edinburgh. Also through this job I got experience of contacting and dealing with many kind of people by offering keyrings and telling the conditions to obtain them. This also increased my confidence in engaging conversations with the photography company that hires me, and I think this would be relevant when I'll be dealing with other company directors from the creative industries.I'm projecting myself to become a creative designer that has the ability to provide a wide range of creative solutions to different companies. I already feel able to do the job and with University I would like to enhance my design skills, research methods and critical analysis to come with a concept quicker.
