I have been a professional graphic designer for over a year landing my first job at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, working a wide variety of projects.

My main responsibilities are:

Special Publications and Event Collateral: Desiging and laying out event collateral, which includes invitations, programs, signage, and ads, in collaboration with events coordinator. I am a liaison with printer(s) when needed.

Weekly Publication: Design and lay out nearly all weekly paper sections. Create maps, charts, and graphs. Color correct, manipulate and drop in photos. Correctly set-up/paginate pages.

Advertising Design: Collaborate with account executives to create advertisements to the clients and/or account executives specifications. Make sure that all ads are run through spell check and all errors are corrected. Collaborate and create in-house marketing materials (house ads, flyers, etc.) when needed.

Production: Consistently and correctly pre-flight ads that clients send to the Business Journal via e-mail, CD or FTP. Continually ‘red flag’ all ads from clients that were incorrectly sized or not to spec, notifying the account executives promptly of any issues. Consistently place approved ads into the publication, based on the weekly map, for weekly and special publications. Read Less
