In October 2013 I set up my online store with up cycled fur fashion - horovitzonline. It is definitely my greatest passion. I love fashion, designing, re-designing and re-purposing of vintage clothes and used materials and making out of them new trendy and unique pieces.

I didn't study fashion, but business, however, I hope by time I will get all the knowledge by practical experience, I design and sew the outwear pieces on my own, I love mixing different structures and noble materials such as natural fur and leather with wool and silk.

Clothing up-cycling is a relatively new trend, and my mission is to promote this concept and in the meantime design gorgeous and warm accessories, that my fashion savvy clients can enjoy (a lot of women love fur coats - it is beautiful, cozy, fancy and luxurious, but why kill more animals for that while we can repurpose - so this is what I'm doing!) New fall/winter 2014 collection is ready and available in the online store right now - www.horovitzonline.com.

Why Upcycling? Upcycling allows the fur that is already in circulation to be re-purposed. It means that another animal doesn’t have to suffer unnecessarily and what fur is in circulation is valued and not wasted. A large amount of vintage fur goods simply get disregarded; fashions change or the owner simply gets bored and moves on.

Something that I feel is morally wrong. Vintage can be brand new! How?I completely deconstruct each vintage purchase, removing the old lining and down inside. The pelt is carefully checked and the leather where possible, if still strong, is reused in future designs. The vintage fur is then professionally cleaned and treated. Then using my innovative designs I add new lining fabrics, new fastenings and details.

From what was a cruelly wasted piece now comes something bespoke and re-purposed.
I truly believe in my project. I’m not trying to say it will save the world or stop the fur trade but I think it can make us value what is already there. Read Less
