Mark Duran Consulting

San Francisco, CA, USA
My career in graphic arts began nearly 30 years ago as a typesetter at PC World magazine where I learned the exacting processes involved in print production, copy editing, and typography. I fell in love with graphic design when I developed identity, branding and PR programs for Queer Nation, a gay rights activist group I co-founded with a couple of friends. Years ahead of its time Queer Nation started the conversation that we're now having about discrimination against queer people in housing, employment, marriage, taxation and military service, anti-gay violence, bigotry and harassment.

Building on my experience with Queer Nation, I created extremely successful direct mail campaigns for Community United Against Violence, identity programs for HIV Prevention Project and Prevention Point, as well as advertising for the Coalition on Homelessness. More recently, I’ve worked as in-house designer for law firm marketing departments at Pillsbury Winthrop and Fenwick & West. Along the way my work has won several design and communications awards. I'm on the hunt for new clients, so if you think I might be a good fit in your organization don't hesitate to give me a call.
