Presented designs, concepts & wireframes to clients in Ireland and Switzerland.
+I designed the Irish National Lottery’s first ever online Instant Win Games. Being easy to use and mobile friendly, they raised over €30,000 more for good causes in Ireland within their first 6 months alone.
+ My value to the company was identified when my contract role was extended and I was given a permanent position with extra design and strategic responsibilities.

Redesigned Sinfini Music, a content-heavy classical music website positioned for wide appeal. Working with developers and editorial, improved movement around the site and architecture to expose the great archive of relevant articles.

Contract Web & Mobile Designer
Designing and wireframing new features and functionality for the UK, Polish and Czech groceries sites and concepts for a new mobile app.
+ I designed a new section to present in-store counters better online and the section was designed, approved and live in 9 days - apparently a record for the large, often slow-moving division - reflecting the speed and quality of my work and my ability to understand all stakeholders’ and developers’ needs.
+ I helped a project to introduce shopping list functionality and presented to senior management showing my concepts for the user journey, successfully attaining budget approval for development.

The sole designer on a portfolio of commercial BBC websites (including Top Gear, Radio Times and Good Food) fulfilling their editorial, development, sales and marketing needs. Designing for diverse brands across digital media (websites, apps, display adverts, social media) with video editing and supporting motion graphics.
Extending brand and style guidelines for the digital space. Solving problems as a product development team member, generating ideas and supporting visuals. Managing work flow, helping with prioritisation, handling requests from numerous internal clients and external advertisers, working to a consistently high standard under high time pressures in an agency-like environment.
+ Some of the splash screens I illustrated for Good Food’s popular family of recipe apps and had reversioned for marketing collateral were picked up by Apple for having a style and content that was a “good fit” and featured repeatedly on the front of the UK & US App Store, some as App of the Week.
+ I redesigned topgear.com/videos to reflect better the look and feel of the television programme manipulating photographs taken at the hangar/studio to form the page structure. Combined with attention to user experience, video views grew by over 40%.
+ I played a key part in the introduction of recipe collections on Good Food to improve visibility of content and improve SEO. This project contributed markedly to an increase in site visits of over 70% year-on-year.

Contract Online Designer
Managing the digital output of the IPC Creative part of the UK’s leading consumer magazine publishers. Conceiving, storyboarding and creating digital advertising for many major UK brands (e.g. Specsavers, Fairy, Neutrogena, River Island and ITV2). Designing mockups for online advertorials, for a range of magazine websites including Marie Claire, Look, In Style, and Now.
+ I briefed sales teams extensively on the online opportunities available that would complement campaigns in Marie Claire for River Island and ITV2 - my input and mockups contributed to successful pitches.
+ Joining as a temporary cover for the online design manager, I built a rapport with the IPC Creative team and with limited guidance, quickly familiarised myself with methods, company structures and picked up existing jobs: managing client expectations and delivering creative, high-quality designs as required. I was asked to stay beyond the cover period.

A first rate foundation at one of the most innovative players in the early online market. A varied role demanding sharp creativity in digital & print design and copywriting. Employing great attention to detail, speed, flexibility, wit, and excellent communication & language skills.
Designing for brands in the lastminute.com group and also as part of a design service to commercial clients and partners (e.g. British Airways, Vodafone, Superdrug, MSN, AOL, Hilton, Film4 and numerous tourist boards).
Working across a range of digital and printed media including: banners; emails; web; press and outdoor adverts; presentations; and promotional items.
+ I instigated and executed a redesign of the lifestyle product newsletter to an image-led format with a smart, manageable template. Newsletter revenue jumped 400%, while weekly design time was cut from 7 to 2.5 hours.
+ I was part of small team responsible for starting carbonwise, the travel industry’s first carbon offsetting scheme. In the run up to launch, I pushed to raise its profile across the site and designed and wrote the copy for the online and offline assets used for launch. In its 1st week over 10% of flights customers opted to offset their emissions and we won an innovation award soon after.
+ I was the first designer to create the animations for digital bus side advertising. Working closely with the creators of the technology we overcame the difficulties in designing for the new format, creating a truly impactful media first for lastminute.com and contributing to a record year in Christmas gift sales.
