2012-2013 After finishing my parallel studies in History, Archaeology & History of Art (National Kapodistrian University of Athens) I have been working as a freelance since June 2012. As a member of the Urban Fiction design team I won the Bronze A' Design Award and Competition in the category of Lighting Products and Projects. 2008-2012 Jewellery & Object design and construction lessons with Y. Siotis (Kent Institute Of Art & Design BA (HONS) Silversmithing, Goldsmithing & Jewellery Design). At this period I was exploring my designing path not only in the fields of jewellery but also working with objects, products and sculpture. I was encouraged to produce ideas freely, then discover the techniques & the materials and finally experience the practical and sentimental effort needed for them to be incarnate. 2006-2008 Classic jewellery lessons with T. Damianou, (Diploma on Gemology, GTL Athens). I also broadened my fields of interest in glyptography and gemology (introduction). Part-time work in the production of wax models for casting. 2007 Summer seminar at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School of Florence with Peter Bauhuius concerning the lost wax casting technique and permanent coloring of particular metal alloys 2005-2006 Entered university and started classic jewelry lessons with M. Panagiotou.(Goldsmith with 40 year experience & graduate of Athens School of Fine Arts).
My work is a result of contradictory concepts: always try to combine my personal perception with people’s needs and the requirements of current times with respect to the history of arts and objects. I embrace traditional and modern techniques and I enjoy the outcome of their dialogue. Sometimes I enjoy creating the feeling of surprise by transforming common things. Including in my creations different materials, exploring old ones, or even generating new, is one of the most fun parts of the creative process! I consider very important for the originality of ones’ work for it to be the result of a personal journey from the start –in a form of a theory, an idea- to the end that the object is finally coming into life. Currently, participating in various seminars, learning about new materials and techniques, actively involved in art events and competitions as a medium to expand knowledge and experience.
Read Less
