Once I started seeing design, I couldn’t look away. I am inspired by a wide range of things from contemporary design magazines, to German industrial typography from the 40’s, and the paintings of John Singer-Sargent. Old posters and typography from the every era of printing intrigue me, and I like to find new spins on old traditions. I strive to seek out new influences and keep up with everything that is going on in the design world.
I have a compulsion to constantly create and like to sew, knit, and hand make many things. I like to find ways to incorporate these mediums, textures, and handmade works into my design. I am also particularly interested in illustration, and creating a sense of lightness and nostalgia. As a Child I spent hours reading books, and pouring over illustrations that inspired imagination and curiosity.
As a designer, I merge these styles and influences with contemporary ideal of cleanliness and a balanced hierarchy. A particularly important aspect of design is merging typography and image to create a cohesive work. Read Less
