Grand Rapids, MI, USAThe necessity to communicate is the driving force behind my beliefs as an artist. For me the responsibility of well made art and design is to invoke a sensation in the audience. As art critic Dr. Denis Dutton surmised in his book The Art Instinct; Art is not defined by how (or even who) made it, but instead by how well it has meet it’s “use” in engaging the human species.
As I grew as an artist I realized that the most important part of being an artist was having well built artwork that contributed to building better communities. My works generally come from own experiences in graphic design, as well as my experience with comics and illustration. As an artist I want my work to further our society by provoking critical thought, and to inspire humanity as a collective to utilize our minds to build better communities.
