My name is Martin Malacek, but I usually go by the moniker Maldo. I'm a London based visual & digital designer and illustrator with 7+ years of professional experience in advertising agencies, digital agencies, graphic design studios and startups.

After finishing a master's degree in marketing and advertising, I quickly improved my creative skills and gained a lot of experience in top Slovak advertising agencies and design studios. I have had the opportunity to work for big clients across various ATL/BTL projects in both digital and print with the best people in the field.

I'm able to lead, teach, run workshops. I have good typographic and illustration skills, good time management, attention to detail, and lots of client work experience. As a freelancer I specialized mostly in creating original artwork through visual branding, lettering, apparel design and digital illustration.

My last employer was a successful event oriented tech-startup in central London where I was working for almost a year as a lead product designer. Redesigning company/product website, creating web content and illustration, working closely with marketing and sales team on each and every aspect of our brand, but also taking care of client work - bespoke branding of our product with clients brand assets.

In my spare time, I really enjoy traveling, running, attending various music venues, meetups, art events or inspirational talks. I love street-wear, fashion indie brands, tech and startup scene and social media. I also play basketball, take pictures with analog cameras, enjoy good coffee and occasionally I also surf.

As a small self-fulfilling side-project I passionately run an independent street-wear brand called Lemonaut.

I graduated from University of Constantine the Philosopher in Slovakia in 2012 as Master (Mgr.) in Marketing communication & advertising.
