Mackenzie O'Hare was born in Davenport, Iowa, in 1991 and she is currently attending the Kansas City Art Institute to receive her BFA in Printmaking. Residing in Kansas City, Missouri, she has gained technical training with printing equipment such as a Vandercook Letterpress, Tackach Lithography Press, and etching presses along with focuses on oil based printing inks and fine art papers. She has worked outside of the community to have work sold and shown at Adventure Orange in Davenport, Iowa since 2009. Within the Kansas City community she has helped install work with visiting artists, is curator at Jaskki's Tobacco Cafe, and was recently selected to be in an international traveling show organized by Alicia Candiani (2012). As a Printmaking undergraduate at the Kansas City Art Institute she has been interested in working with collage and printmaking techniques to create work commenting on the absurdity of todays culture. Some of her biggest influences would include Clarke Curtis, Amy Ross, Dada artists, and many street/zine/underground artists. Her philosophy on art is to be able to create work that is fun and can be received by majority of people. She also believes that when you love the work you are making it will love you back. Read Less
