A Canadian artist, Lydia Buxton uses traditional goldsmithing and enamelling techniques paired with alternative material to create compelling contemporary jewellery. Her focus on form and texture create sculptural works that are home both adorning a body, or filling a gallery space.

In 2013, Lydia graduated from NSCAD University in Halifax, NS, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing. In the summer of 2013 she was awarded first place in the 10th Annual National Student Jewellery Competition held at L.A. Pai Gallery in Ottawa, Ontario. She is a recipient of an Arts Nova Scotia Creation Grant, which has graciously funded her current body of work, ‘The Gardens We Carry’. This show opened summer 2014 and is presently for sale at LA PAI Gallery in Ottawa, ON. Read Less
