Luis graduated from Parsons School of Design with honors in 1995, when thereafter, he was one of few photographers invited to Italy to attend Fabrica, the center for intensive concepts, created by Oliviero Toscani and Luciano Benetton. The collaboration allowed Luis the time and atmosphere needed to continue to evolve, as well as develop new styles and ways of producing imagery.
Throughout the years Luis has assisted other reputable photographers, including Bruce Weber and Peter Arnell, who have refined Luis’ work ethic in the photo world of large budgets and immense production sessions. Also, he has freelanced with many magazines including i-D, Nylon, Colors, Trace, Terrace, Interview, Latina, and Balance. Clients include Donna Karan Collection, DooRi, Adidas, Snickers, Movistar, Charly, Ford, DKNY, DKNY Jeans, Mexx, Liz Claiborne, Claiborne, and Dana Buchman. These shared experiences have kept him in the heart and pulse of the industry. Sharing these moments of viewing light, capturing social graces of his surroundings and commenting on the social structure handed to us, as well as the ones we have constructed for ourselves, remain key elements in the subjects of Luis’ expressions.
Luis shares his time between New York and Mexico. Read Less
