Luciano Sormani is a versatile and dedicated designer. He sees every design project as a challenge that he approaches with enthousiasm and pragmatism. Not content with taking the easiest path, he tackles each design job, no matter how small or large with the same efficiency and professionalism.

Luciano was born in Resistencia, Argentina in 1975. In January of 1980, at almost 5 years of age, he traveled with his family to the Netherlands. After graduating from High School he decided on a career in art, but soon found out that as much as he liked fine arts, a career in that field was not for him. instead he focused his creative energy in a career in creative writing and graphic design. He combined a daytime job in retail with various free-lance projects for ten years, before deciding to get a formal education in Graphic Design. He found a perfect match in a two-year graphic arts program at the South Hills School for Business & Technology in State College, Pennsylvania. Under the expert guidance of Program Director Ray Liddick and instructor Jim Colbert, he has honed his software and design skills in a variety of areas, including advertising design, typography, webdesign, collateral design and conceptual design.

Since November 2012, he has worked as an intern and senior designer at Open Door Visions, a Tyrone PA based communications firm. Here he has helped developed and designed websites, publications and marketing campaigns for local clients. As of March 2014, he will also be an instructor of Graphic Design at South Hills School of Business & Technology, in State College, PA.

As an artist, he is interested in the juxtaposition of nature and technology, but his work isn't restricted to that idea only, often exploring the world of colour, landscape and nature. His work has been exhibited twice at the Schlow Library Juried Exhibition (2011, 2013).

His passions include: art, photography, architecture and music. He speaks five languages and loves watching movies, cooking an painting. Read Less
