Massachusetts College Of Art And Design
Assistant Professor of Interaction and Visual Design
In Spring and Summer of 2013 I will be back at MassArt by night teaching Interaction Design — introducing current concepts, methods, and technologies employed in the design of interactive media. Subjects of study included defining user and site requirements, managing information complexity, and designing visual interfaces that are usable and testable. Assignments address design problem solving within screen- and non-screen based projects developed for various content, needs, and audiences. I also taught Interaction Design in the Summers of 2011 and 2012, too, so it will be nice to be back for this return engagement.
In Autumn 2010 I worked as a Teaching Assistant to Colin Owens for the Continuing Education course 'Fundamentals of Grapic Design'. The course refreshingly touches upon key concepts related to all areas of design, focusing on a unique, tactile, analog approach ( drawing, physically cropping, critique and discussion ) that makes each design student more keenly aware of the critical use of 'the senses' throughout the design process.
