Lisa Lone Fight is an enrolled member of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara (Sahnish) Nation. She is a scientist, artist, writer and indigenous educator specializing in Remote Sensing, culturally relevant programming and the empowerment of native students.
Lisa’s wide experience working with Indian communities throughout the United States has strengthened her understanding of the critical need for Native participation in the Spatial Sciences and the need to make science and math culturally relevant and interesting for contemporary Native students. Her work as a journalist and photographer grounds her belief in the importance of communicating ideas and concepts to a wide audience in an accessible and engaging manner. Read Less
