Born in Holland to a Spanish father and an American mother, I am intrigued by the universal nature of the human experience. As a product designer, I seek to design simple, elegant everyday objects that cross cultural boundaries and captivate and delight the people that use them.

I am very interested in Japanese design and am currently researching Japanese woodworking's influence on contemporary product design as a masters student at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan.

I am interested in entry-level industrial design job opportunities beginning in April 2018. I am particularly interested in designing kitchenware, furniture, housewares, and/or soft goods at an international company where I might use my international background and language skills in Japanese and Spanish. My international upbringing (I grew up in the Netherlands and England) and bilingualism in English and Spanish have instilled in me an interest in travel and language-learning. I completed an undergraduate degree in industrial design at the University of Kansas. I have studied abroad at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid as well as Doshisha University in Kyoto. I am currently a masters student at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. I hope to continue travelling indefinitely, as I am excited to learn about different places, design cultures, and ways of life. Read Less
