Born in Winchester Hampshire England.
My interest in photography began at the age of 14. My mother, a person of unusually keen foresight, suggested photography or member of the clergy as career choices for her torpid son. I gladly accepted the former and my mother bought me a Practica MTL5, my first film camera. I keenly set about photographing anything and everything. A hobby became a passion and that in turn became a career.
Having completed four years of study in graphic design and photography, I assisted for a further 6 years before starting his own photography business in 1996.
Today I work on a variety of advertising and editorial projects that involve still life, people and on figure work, my unique style and conceptual approach being sort after by many of the worlds leading advertising agencies.
I have been awarded the prestigious Velvia Bursary Grant, which is a competition by invitation only. I also won the highly prized John Kobal Portrait Award, sponsored by the National Portrait Gallery, London. My work was also exhibited in the 10 year retrospective at the National Portrait Gallery, and regularly features in the Association of Photographers annual awards.
Away from assignment work, I works at my personal projects, and am a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy in London. I am represented by the Sarah Myerscough Gallery in Mayfair. I am a member of the prestigious Lensmodern group, conceived by some of the worlds leading photographers to show case their artwork, and I was one of the original 50 photographers to be invited to join the group at it’s inception.
My home and studio are in New York City, but I've tallied up many thousands of air miles working for clients on both sides of the Atlantic.
