About the Artist
Leith O’Malley is a South Australian Visual Artist.

His passion for making art and drawing in particular was influenced by the illustrative style and cartoons of Mad Magazine, Australian newspaper cartoonists Paul Rigby, Michael Leunig, Bill Leak and the illustrations of Rick Griffin, Robert Crumb, Goya and Shaun Tan.

He has maintained a very active studio practice, presenting solo exhibitions and participating in group shows within Australia and America. Most recently his artwork has been included as part of the Luciano Benetton collection (Italy) which will be exhibited in Australia during 2016.
He has been included in the accompanying book "Looking Down Under - Contemporary Artists of Australia 2016”.
He has also recently been commissioned as a regular illustrator for popular Australian music magazine "Rhythms".

O’Malley’s practice includes working in a diversity of pictorial media (drawing, oil, acrylic, collage, pastel and mixed media) as well as digital design, graphic design, photography and short film video editing.
He has also just completed the full album art and layout/design for a CD release from renowned Australian record company “Newmarket Records” of Melbourne
There is a close nexus between Leiths studio work and the many commissions he has undertaken for corporate and publishing clients in Australia, Europe, and America. A life-long love of music, particularly jazz, and blues has led to prestigious graphic art commissions (posters, tshirts, tickets) for music festivals, in Australia, Russia and America along with further CD/poster designs and magazine related art.

Leith O'Malley is represented by the following galleries:
